The students and staff at Pike Central HS & MS brought in over 2300 canned good items for the Tri-State Food Bank.  More items were brought in this morning before we went live on WFIE 14 Sunrise program.  Students you did a wonderful job this morning in showing the tri-state how great the Chargers truly are.  Way to go!
The Precision Machining class at Pike Central High School will be having a Saturday camp on December 5, 2015, from 9 a.m. to noon.  This workshop will be for students looking for a career in a field that is high paying, in high demand, and rewarding.

The camp is open to students in the Patoka Valley Vocational Cooperative, which includes Pike Central, Wood Memorial, Forest Park, Jasper, Heritage Hills, Northeast Dubois, and Southridge.

Those attending will learn about the Precision Machining Program, including career and employment opportunities, at the morning of hands-on-activities.  The camp is free to all students in the cooperative.

Besides students, parents and friends are invitied to attend, but please reserve a spot by emailing your name and number attending to Pike Central instructor markscott@pcsc.k12.in.us by December 2, 2015.

Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch.

Boy's Basketball

The Booneville @ Pike Central game that was supposed to be played on January 16th has been moved to Monday, December 21st at Pike Central.  JV game will begin at 6:30 EST.

The Wood Memorial @ Pike Central basketball game on January 6th has been moved to January 16 at the Knightstown gym for Hoosiers Classic game.  More info will come out about this event.

The JV game against Wood Memorial on January 6th will still be played at Pike Central on January 6th with a start time of 6:30 EST.

Boy's Baseball:

The Pike Central @ Washington baseball game that was supposed to be played on April 9th has bee moved.  It is now Pike Central @ Washington on March 31st at 6:00 p.m.

Parents, you may access your student's grades online using our student information  system INOW. Students and parents each have login information available. Parent logins allow parents to see multiple children with one user name. Please contact your child's school for your login information. Access to INOW can be found on the lower left portion of this website.

Student/Staff Spotlight

This weekend Pike Central had two students, Taia Hinton and Kailee Russell performing with the Evansville Youth Philharmonic Orchestra in their Fall Concert. These students meet weekly with the ensemble. Their fall concert consisted of a variety of repertoire including pieces by Mozart, Saint-Saens, Debussy, and Dvorak. Their next concert is Saturday, April 23, at 7 pm at the Victory Theater in Evansville, Indiana.  The Evansville Youth Philharmonic Orchestra is under the direction of Maestro Brian Onderdonk.
This past weekend eight students from Pike Central performed in the All-District Honor Band at Vincennes University. They met
Saturday at VU, along with students from sixteen different school for rehearsal. The weekend finished with a performance on Sunday afternoon. They were under the direction of Jim Jones, Director of Bedford-North Lawrence Bands. Students who participated were:  Amelia Woolery, Andrew Parker, Elizabeth Heath, Faryn Hensler, Logan Ferguson, Chelsea Fidler, Aspen Wynn, Abby Hess.
On Sunday, November 15th, an honor band consisting of 91 students, representing 21 schools across Southwestern Indiana met at South Knox High School. These students were under the direction of Master Gunnery Sergent John Mula of the President's Own Marine Corps Band. The students met on Saturday for a six hour rehearsal with a culminating concert on Sunday. Those students from Pike Central Middle and High Schools who participated were:
Ethan Huck, Shelby Vaughn, Brandon Goeppner, Alex Powers, Ashley Dulworth, Maggie McDonald, Klayton Kixmiller, Neeley Correll, Madison Fettinger, Evan McGuire, Kyle Williams, and Benny Hess
Congratulations to Ivy Sullivan!  She has received Honorable Mention to the Indiana Association of Track & Cross Country Coaches' Academic All-State Cross Country team.

Congratulations to Jolene Whitehead (All Around) & Nicah McFarland (Defense Specialist) on being named to the PAC All Conference Volleyball Team.

Congratulations to Kaitlyn Foster on her 17th place finish at the IHSAA Cross Country Regional.  Kaitlyn is advancing on to IHSAA Semi-State at Brown County with her finish.  Congratulations to the PC Lady Chargers on their 7th place finish as a team.  Team members were:  Kaitlyn Foster, Ivy Sullivan, Abby Hillyard, Lillie Pancake, Cailey Furman, Brittany Young and Halley Powers.  We also wanted to say great job to those young men who represented PC at Regional:  Caden Armstrong, Garrett Manges and Jade Johnson.
